The unheard words of Cyreen(:

Graduation

Graduation is a time in life what you have accomplished something. Everyone gathers around to recognize your accomplishment and hard work. They cheer you on an you walk up to accept the diploma that is rightfully yours. As you walk on to the stage in front of the crowd, you become nervous but at the same time excited. Six steps from the stairwell and you will be officially graduated. An alluring thought. A deepening feeling that many have come to know, and many hope to know. Some may never even know the feeling. The feeling of hard work paying off. This feeling is even deeper if you were told you can not to it. If you have been beaten down and belittled. But guess what, you did it. And you can rub it in with a smile. Graduation is a time when everything and anything is possible. You just had to work for it. In the end it pays off.

Newts :)

Have you ever gone to a pond to catch newts? What about salamanders? These cute little lizard animals are adorable. They are all squishy except for their spines. They also swim with only their tails. They don’t use their feet. It is quite interesting to watch them. They are intriguing animals. If you ever get the chance to see one or catch one, I recommend it.

WASH-A-TON, I Mean Washington

Washington, or in other words “Washaton”, is one of the rainiest places to live on the United States.

Home of Seattle’s Best Coffee, but also the highest suicide rate in the country, Washington is a mixed influence. Living here is both good and bad. The sun rarely shines, but is you like to live like a duck in a pond than this is the place for you. Home of the Evergreen trees, and boy are they ever-green! Western Washington is a beautiful place, and I honestly think that the reason why everything has its lush, green beauty, is because of all of the rain. It is just depressing if you do not like nature. The rain is intense, but the green beauty if even more intense.

A Rainy Day

I’m sitting outside waiting for my ride and guess what… It starts pouring down rain. Its been raining for days now but it’s getting worse. This is why I don’t miss Washington. It’s so depressing with the grey cloud and the rainy atmosphere. It needs to clear up so I can cheer up. It’s been kind of a bad day, I guess the weather wants to mock me.

Cows and Oregon

Today I have driven through Oregon. From top to bottom. And I have concluded a three things.

1. There are many… I mean many cows in Oregon. So many cows that you could probably invade Maryland with them. That is how many cows there are!

2. Oregon is cold. I was in Rice Hill, OR and it was 57 degrees. I’m coming from Mexico where it is 100+ degrees. I feel like an eskimo!

And finally,

3. Oregon is full of trees. I love trees. Oregon is a beautiful tree state. Everything is so green! It’s amazing! I would consider oregon a place to live, but the only down fall I have for it is that it is so cold.

This was what I realized on my trip through Oregon.

Unwanted Washington

Well it’s official. I have left Mexico. Goodbye San Felipe. Onward back to the state I had called home for seventeen years. Thinking about it now, Washington isn’t home, it never felt like home. Having experienced Mexico like I have, I can now say what family is, and it is not what I had known in Washington.

With each mile we travel, my heart sinks even more. I’m dreading the arrival in Washington. But my arrival is inevitable, it will happen. Closer and closer it approaches…

Grand Adventures

Today I have finished the majority of my packing to go back to Washington. The past 8 months has flown by, and my departure date is closing in on me. I leave Tuesday, May 15th, 2012. this is going to be a sad day, but at the same time, a great day. It is the start of a new adventure. One that is unknown for right now, but will soon arrive. Graduation is one month away, that is an experience all it’s own.

Anyways, back to packing and leaving. I have met the most wonderful people in San Felipe. I am glad I decided to return in September. That will be another adventure. After all, I return after my 18th birthday! That will be different, but all worth the change for adventure.

Gay Marriage

When people think marriage, they think bride and groom. Now-a-days you will start thinking bride and bride, groom and groom, and even bride and groom. This is possible because Obama did something worth while for once during his presidency. He is signing a bill that accepts same sex marriage. This will enrage many people, but at the same time make many men and women all over the country happy. Everyone has a right to their views and thoughts on same sex marriage. Some support it, others frown upon it and call it unnatural. Personally, I think whatever makes you happy, makes you happy. I you are a woman and want to be married to a woman, then go for it! If that is what makes you happy, then do it. Same goes for any man, if you want to marry a man, go for it! Do what makes YOU happy. You will always have someone disapprove over something you do. It’s human nature to always have positive forces and negative forces around any and all things.

Minors, Alcohol, Cigarettes, & Choices

The Legal drinking age in the United States is 21. The legal drinking age in Mexico, and the majority of the world, is 18. I’m not for or against either age, so don’t get me wrong when I ask, why are there two different age requirements? Did the united states know better when they raised the age requirement? At one point in time, the United States requirement was 18 as well. Why the change? If they had a good, logical reason to change it, why hasn’t the while world? Is this for power control? Or is there a logical explanation, besides liver damage? I think if someone wants to ruin their liver, let them. It’s their choice. Cigarettes are sold to 18 year olds everywhere, including the United States. So why can you sell cancer-causing substances over liver ruining ones? Or how about this? You an enlist in the military at 17 to give up your life, but can’t buy alcohol. Does this make any sense? The United States is suppose to have freedoms, why not allow the freedoms to people to chose what they want to kill their bodies with? It is THEIR body after all. Of course, this is all in my opinion.

Project En Vue

Oakland, California I known as not a good place to be, poor, violent, an down right dangerous. But really it’s a community, just like another. There is a organization from Oakland that is trying to publish a book based on the history, and it’s people of Oakland. They are trying to raise $3,000 for this book. With your help you can make this possible. With a minimum $1 donation, you can help this organization meet their goal, publish the book, and become a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. With their cameras, recorders, pens, pencils, and notebooks, they write the pages of Oakland history for the world to read. Would you help their cause? If yes, go to their website at: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1682512818/project-en-vue

Just a dollar can help this cause immensely.
